Raw, energetic, flamboyant and passionate, Jesus Christ Superstar introduced Broadway to Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice and the "rock opera." The provacative retelling of the events of Christ's last week on earth leading up to his crucifixion (told through the eyes of Judas) infuses one of the world's best-known stories with musical theatre savvy. Continuing the tradition, Jesus Christ Superstar will be staged for the 14th year in a row. The first two years the production was staged at The Capitol Civic Centre in manitowoc and for the past 12 years at The Historic Grand Opera House in Oshkosh. Once again under the Artistic and Musical Direction of James Hart, this production has played to over 35,000 people in several Northeast Wisconsin cities since first being staged by Hart 14 years ago.
